Emma holds a BScAgric degree in Animal Science and is currently completing her MSc Agric in the same field. Her research focuses on dairy calf welfare, combining aspects of animal nutrition, health, and management. By integrating historical audit data with on-farm assessments across dairy farms in the Western Cape, she aims to identify practical opportunities to improve calf rearing practices and overall calf welfare. She is passionate about animal welfare and sustainable farming, and enjoys using research to help solve real-world challenges in the South African dairy industry.
